HDI West Michigan

KLUG is an education based group of computer users dedicated to the advancement and promotion of open sourced software, primarily the Linux operating system. Our membership consists of people who vary from the light email and web surfing home users to system administrators and web developers and all levels in between. Our membership is free to all with the attendance of three meetings, but voluntary paid supporting memberships are available to those who wish to help support our efforts. Through the combination of open exchange of ideas and formal presentations we educate our members and the general public to the advantages and advances in open source software. West Michigan Technology Association (WMTA) is an organization of professionals working in the telecommunications (voice, data and video) arena. Monthly meetings include presentations on current issues and future trends in our industry. The presentations cover a wide range of topics, from legislative and regulatory changes, to demonstrations of the latest in voice, data and video communications. There are opportunities to share technical knowledge and experiences; assist others with telecommunication and data network problem solving; and discuss the challenges we face in our rapidly changing industry. The atmosphere is open and informal. The WMTA benefits both our employers and ourselves, as we develop our professional skills. All members are asked to keep in confidence the information shared to avoid conflicts among the various organizations represented at our meetings.

Xipherspace
Xipherspace (zy-fer-space) is a physical location for collaborative learning located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. We understand that many artists, makers and hackers lack the space, equipment or knowledge to tinker and play as they would like to. Xipherspace seeks to change that. Our goals are to provide a unique social and educational atmosphere for individuals of all interests to come together and play with science, art and technology safely, and to learn by actual hands on experiences alongside people that are willing to share their knowledge freely.
